Crossing the enormous basin that covers a large part of the Qhinghai
Province.
Sometimes it just seemed like an endless stone desert. It was
some place in here that John would often recite his favorite quote
from Laurence of Arabia, "Laurence, no one has crossed the
Nufud desert and made it out alive!".Qhinghai, China.

the string winds, Qhinghai, China.
After reaching Golmud we turned south toward the Kun Lun mountains
that form the northern border of the Tibetan plateau. This Chinese
vegetable seller decided that he would walk the 720 miles/ 1200KM
to Lhasa. He had no food and no blankets. The last time we say
him he was trying to thaw himself out after a bitterly cold night.
Amdo, Tibet.
