got our first views of Mt. Everest just before we reached the
town of Namche Bazaar.

Namche
Bazaar is the center of the entire Everest region.

Every
Saturday there is a large market in Namche with people from the
entire Everest region. Traders come from down in the plains and
from as far away as Tibet.

Our
hotel in Namche Bazaar. Namche has 24 hour electricity, a hospital
and satellite TV. It is at 11,100 feet (3400m).

The
Tibetan traders travel over the Himalaya to sell their goods
in Namche Bazaar. They mostly bring cheap Chinese clothing, Tibetan
rugs and yak meat.
