It
was tough going through the all the glacial debris of the Kumbu
glacier.

After
making it up to Kala Patar, we head toward the Cho-la pass.

|
|

This
trail was a bit off the main trekking route. It provided us with
a break from most of the larger tour groups.

we just come.

As
we approached the top of the Cho-la pass we started to see the
glacier that covers the top of the pass.

carefully making her way across the glacier.

The
trail over the glacier was easy to follow. Every day during the
trekking season a couple dozen people cross the pass.

tech glacial footwear (Teva sandals).

Looking
over in the Gokyo valley from the top of the Cho-la pass, 17,800
feet (5426m). We still had a long way to go before the nearest
lodge. This was the longest day of the trek, about 10 hours of
walking.
